Raman Kandola is a Surrey, BC–based criminal defence lawyer with over six years of experience representing clients across British Columbia and has defended more than 600 criminal cases in both Provincial Court and the Supreme Court of British Columbia.
Raman holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from Simon Fraser University and a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of Sussex. Her academic focus on criminal organizations, youth offenders, and intimate partner violence laid the foundation for her dedicated career in criminal defence. Since being called to the Law Society of British Columbia in 2020, she has built a strong trial practice and a reputation for strategic, client-focused advocacy.

Meet our Articling Student, Sharan Sidhu
Sharan Sidhu holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from University of the Fraser Valley and completed her JD Pathway LLB at University of Leicester with Honours. During law school, she volunteered with Against Violence and Abuse, where she contributed to raising public awareness and providing legal support to survivors of domestic abuse.
Prior to commencing her articles with Ms. Kandola, she worked as a 911 Police Dispatcher with Surrey RCMP for almost ten years which eventually transitioned into Surrey Police Service. This experience provided her with firsthand exposure to the criminal justice system and strengthened her ability to remain calm and responsive in high-pressure situations.
Sharan is particularly interested in criminal law because it requires quick thinking, strong advocacy, and practical problem-solving. She enjoys working in a dynamic environment where each case presents unique legal and factual challenges.
